Who Else Wants to Turn Their Dreams into Reality?

I had this powerful dream the other night which I have to share with you.

It relates to a situation I have been going through over the past year.  I find that if you have been thinking about something a lot, your mind has a way of incorporating those thoughts into your dreams.

The Dream

I am about to begin my race; I am placed behind the starting gate, as if I am a horse in the stall at the race track. Yet, I can’t see the course ahead of me.

All I know is that I have worked very hard each day of my life to get to this point.  I have mastered numerous skills and tasks, and passed all the requisite tests.  I have the passion to proceed. I am all set.   The adrenaline is building up inside of me, and I am aching to get going.

I am also curious – about how the course will look and how I will perform.  There is a lot weighing on this performance.  I have worked incredibly hard to get here, and I have certain expectations for myself.  Not only that, I have my family, peers, and colleagues rooting for me. They have put a lot of effort into helping me reach this point; they are excited to see how I do in my race.

So here I am, waiting in the stall raring to go; the whistle is about to blow.

It’s almost here.

3,2,1, Whistle,and I’m off!

I take three steps out of the gate and come to a complete stop.  In front of me are not one, but multiple routes around the track. The sign in my path prominently reads:

Congrats on Graduating!!!! Welcome to Adulthood.

Then I wake up.

You see, I recently graduated with my Master’s degree and have all this drive and passion to help better the world.  However, it hit me almost as soon as I was handed my degree that the route from here, isn’t straight or well-laid out.  Hence, the dream is true to real-life.

Choosing a good path is a worry that has been going on in my subconscious for a while – how do I turn my dream into reality?

However, unlike the dream, I have picked a path and will continue along it.  I can’t just stay at the “Welcome” sign; neither can you.

Life is like a ceaseless river – it keeps going, regardless.  So you must keep moving too.  Don’t care about what path you pick, as long as you are moving forward.

You just have to start the race, and you will learn as you go!!!!
