I was watching Bridget Jones's Diary last night with my sisters. It is a hilarious chick flick with the main character Bridget (played by Renee Zellweger) caught into a love triangle between Hugh Grant and Colin Firth. The one thing that saddened me to see the main character's fascination with weight. Bridget is a woman in her early thirties that wants to find a man.
Watching the movie, I kept thinking: why is she considered FAT? So I have a few questions I'm going to ask you all:
1) Do you think Bridget is FAT? I don't. They mentioned that she is only 140 pounds.
2) Do women (i.e. Bridget or other women) need to lose weight to be attractive to men? Or do you like her "just the way she is"(to quote Mark Darcy)?
